Flowers for Her Hair

Pour mon cher amis avec beaucoup d’amour !

White violets I’ll gather
To weave for her hair,
And tender narcissus,
Dark hyacinth too.
Then I’ll braid it with crocus
And lace it with lilies,
And crown it with roses, red roses of love.
When I place my garland
On her scented brow,
Bright petals will fall
Like soft rain in her hair.

Meleagros 1st Century B.C.

Note: My apologies to those who have requested to be friends and were turned down.
I have recently experienced some trouble with the request box and e-mails requests and have not been able to add anyone.
Please try again later. Thanks !
Like a windstorm punishing the oak trees, love shakes my heart. -Sappho
