About The Castle Lady

Balmoral Castle, Scotland

2019 was a wild ride in personal catastrophes for me but don’t think I have given up because you haven’t seen much in the way of castles for nearly two years! March is about to leave us for good and I know I promised you all much more. As it is, all I can do is apologize and ask you to be patient with me while I get my life sorted out and back in some semblance of normalcy- normalcy for me anyway. At any rate I’ll ask you to explore my many entries posted on this blog concerning castles of North England and much of the Midlands while you wait for the finish.

I started 2018 by covering South England and am not anywhere near done but added quite a few castles in the first three months. The newest entries covered are Surrey, the Scilly Isles (off the coast of Cornwall) and Buckinghamshire.

I hope to get the rest of England’s southern counties finished by the end this year (2020) if possible! You may find out more about my work at my official web site www.ilovecastles.com concerning what I have seen and what is yet to come. It will be renovated, restored and rejuvenated, hopefully in the near future but is always ready for new and old visitors alike. If you have questions or want to find out more about how you can get involved, contact me by leaving your e-mail address on a comment on this blog. :  )   I’m always willing to answer any questions you might have concerning the castles of the world. If you’d like a detailed update on my life presently go to http://ilovecastles.blogspot.com  Enjoy your visit here and there ! !

        Hi Evelyn,
I guess you don’t remember me, but you send me a letter 7years ago on the 13 November 2006. I kept the letter all this time long and never replied. You send me references on Mary Magdalene and kind words attached. 7years passes and i never really read the article until today. Things changed since then; i’m 28 and i have a lot of question. I’m trying to contact you not because i want something from you but instead, i would like to discuss about various things like we used to, long time ago on msn. Please send me a PM on my email or add me on facebook. Gael Deschezeaux, you used to call me Julien (nickname).

Wow ! Yes, Julian I remember you and I have often wondered what happened with you. Do you still live on Mauritius ? I’ll save your e-mail address and give you a longer reply that way and you can give me your new address. Did I put mine on there? It will still be the same for a little while but…
        More later ! ; )

Hi there! I understand this is sort of off-topic but I needed to ask. Does managing a well-established blog like yours require a large amount of work? I’m completely new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal every day. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my own experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!

I can only tell you this: when you write text on a blog you need to decide first who you would imagine will read what you write, what you really want to share with the world and lastly, how much time you’re willing to commit to it. Blogs require only as much of you as you’re willing to put out there. I have six blogs for six different reasons and I really try to put up as much as I can to each of them. I spend about 50% of my time writing- and not just on my blogs. Compartmentalizing my blog writing actually helped me keep everything on track. By the way, they are a LOT of work but in my estimation are worth it. Be sure to sketch out a plan before you start and shop around for the designs you want to use. WordPress is really good for the latter- the former is totally up to you. Have fun ! The Castle Lady
